I don't think you're really speaking to me - you're speaking to a parody of a democrat that you have in your head. I have friends who voted for Trump, I'm in a religious group where many of them are skeptical of and refused vaccines, and several beleive the QAnon theories.

I haven't disavowed any of them, or criticized them for their choices either in person, or in my writing. I understand why they made the decisions they did - although, yes, they are not the choices I personally made. But, I can disagree and still respect them as people.

As for Elon Musk, I can't read his mind. I can just say, he is behaving like powerful men did in the past when they sought to control the information the population received. Because of that, I think it's likely he will end up persuing many of the same goals they did. However, what is different, in that he is a member of the business class, and not the political class. I hope that's enough to save free speech, but frankly, I doubt it.
