I remember reading once, when reading Stephen Fry’s letter to his younger self about being gay, that straight people need to own their issues around love and desire just as much as gay people do.
Over time, I realized that being queer wasn’t as big an obstacle to my finding love as much as my fear of being completely, and fully myself. If I kept pretended to be the girl everyone liked, the people who liked me wouldn’t like me.
If you’re fat, anyone who doesn’t love you fat doesn’t love you. You’re not wrong, they’re wrong.
