Respecting institutions only works if everyone does it; the right wing is currently throwing norms out the window, and will get unmitigated power if people do not resist.

I do agree if an institution is functioning (say, the FBI - headed by a republican but still doing its duty) then sure, support it. But the supreme court? It has been corrupted since the Republicans stole Obama's seat appointment, and all forms of resistance to their rulings are necessary and justified because they are an illegitimate governing body.

Also - multiple people died on Jan 6, and I think the Trumpers wanted to hang Mike pence and were only prevented from doing that because of the police. I give them no credit for self restraint.
