So, while I'd agree that some of the things liberals are saying is "mean" one of the differences is, conservatives are forming militias, coming into liberal communities fully armed (against the wishes of the local community in many cases) and they are killing people. There isn't really any sort of liberal movement going the other way; there have been a few one off nutters, but there isn't a liberal *movement* to go kill people in conservative communities. It really feels like, there are conservative movements (the proud boys, the oath keepers, etc.) who are interested in coming to big cities to kill liberals.
And, I'm not going to say I agree with the liberal response in all cases, but I will say; if you are getting killed, it is very hard to forgive that. I have a much harder time forgiving Rittenhouse for killing those people than I do for the internet trolls calling me a "libtard" or whatever. So, while I think that the liberal response is frequently unwise,. I do think there is an ethical difference between saying mean things on the internet, and forming militias and planning armed infiltration of communities to which you do not belong and are not wanted in.
