Yeah — I mean, that actually kind of squares with my observations too even in liberal SF. Women I dated cared about status markers, but not actually my income (if you’ll note, how much I made was nowhere in my list.) Men, on the other hand, seem to feel pressure to make money to impress women. But… to some degree this pressure isn’t exactly coming from women. Maybe it’s a kind of miscommunication, or a bad trade off a lot of guys are making? I’m not sure.
